Econic Raises Capital to Advance CO₂-Based Materials
Editor’s Note

The October 2024 financing supported customer delivery and development of a new application for Econic’s catalyst technology.

Capital for the commercial phase

Econic Technologies announced an equity financing on 15 October 2024. Taranis Carbon Ventures led the round, with follow-on investment from Capricorn Partners, CM Venture Capital, ING Sustainable Investments and GC Ventures.

The company said the capital would accelerate customer delivery in polyols and support commercialization of its CO₂-based surfactant technology.

One capability, different applications

Econic licenses catalyst and process technology that allows manufacturers to incorporate CO₂ into materials, replacing a portion of conventional feedstocks. Its work in polyols serves polyurethane applications; surfactants offered another development path.

For CMVC, the significance was continued support for the company as it worked toward commercial adoption. Financing provides resources for that work; customer qualification, manufacturing and sales remain distinct milestones.
