A decade of support for CMVC’s foundation shows how sustained industrial relationships create a setting for entrepreneurs and industry to exchange ideas.
A decade of support
On 28 October 2025, CM Venture Capital welcomed around 40 senior executives from Mitsubishi Corporation’s global operations to our Shanghai office. The group was visiting as part of a China innovation tour, making the occasion an opportunity to celebrate a relationship that had grown over ten years.
Mitsubishi Corporation (Shanghai) has supported the Shanghai Strategic Emerging Industries Foundation since its establishment by CMVC in 2015. The celebration recognized that sustained commitment to a community bringing entrepreneurs, technology and industry together.
Bringing global industry closer to innovation in China
A visit of this kind gives industrial leaders an opportunity to meet the people developing new technologies and hear their perspectives directly. For entrepreneurs, it creates a setting to introduce their work to an international industrial audience.
The evening’s program brought those perspectives together. It included welcome remarks from CMVC co-founder Min Zhou and Mitsubishi’s Takamasa Wakaki, presentations on Chinese innovation and industrial AI, and an innovation showcase featuring Crowntech, Enwise, Echiev, Skysys and Econic.
A relationship built through continuity
The significance of the anniversary extends beyond one gathering. Repeated engagement allows industrial partners and entrepreneurs to become familiar with one another’s work and develop a better understanding of where their interests may meet.
Mitsubishi’s support for the foundation has been part of that continuity since 2015. We value the commitment of an industrial partner that returns to the conversation as technologies, companies and markets develop.
A small object with a meaningful connection
A commemorative plaque presented for the occasion featured Mitsubishi’s emblem made from diamond semiconductor material supplied by a CMVC portfolio company. It brought the anniversary back to the science and entrepreneurship at the heart of our work.
